Martin Tschimmel

Martin Tschimmel is an experienced project engineer specializing in systems engineering and optical instruments. Currently serving as the Lead Systems Engineer for the GIRMOS instrument at Gemini Observatory since May 2020, Martin Tschimmel has honed expertise in requirements management, verification, and technical risk management. Prior to this role, experience spans various positions including system engineer for optical instruments at Solenix @EUMETSAT, project manager and system engineer at Jena-Optronik GmbH, and system engineer for optical satellites at OHB-System. Academic achievements include a PhD in Geophysics/Planetary Sciences from The University of Göttingen and a diploma in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
