AI/ML Research Scientist - Computational Linguistics & NLP at GenAIz

Hélène Labelle, Ph.D has a diverse work experience in the field of computational linguistics and NLP. Hélène is currently working as an AI/ML Research Scientist at GenAIz, where they design and builds end-to-end ML models and AI applications. Hélène is specifically involved in the development of bilingual Open Information Extraction (OIE) using their expertise in custom syntactic and lexico-semantic pattern-matching rules.

Prior to their current role, Hélène worked as a Project Manager in Computational Linguistics at WEBOTIT from 2019 to 2020. Hélène was responsible for managing linguistic projects during this time.

From 2014 to 2019, Hélène held multiple roles at Laboratoire Polyphonies du français. Hélène started as a Research Assistant in Linguistics in 2014 and later became the Coordinator of the laboratory in 2018. Hélène also served as an Expert Consultant for a brief period in 2019.

In 2013, Hélène worked as a Teaching Assistant at Université d'Ottawa on a temporary basis.

Additionally, they have international teaching experience as a French Language Assistant in the UK (Northern Ireland) at Ballyclare Secondary School & Parkhall Integrated in 2012-2013. In this role, they taught French as a second language to students ranging from 11 to 18 years old. Hélène also organized activities and conferences to promote Canadian francophonie and culture in the UK.

Hélène's work experience also includes a role as a Corrector at Université de Montréal from 2011 to 2012.

From 2009 to 2012, they attended Université de Montréal, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and French Language Literature. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Ottawa, where they pursued their Master's degree from 2013 to 2015. Lastly, Hélène Labelle continued their education at the University of Ottawa, where they completed their Ph.D. or Doctorate degree from 2015 to 2020. Unfortunately, the field of study for their Master's and Ph.D. degrees was not provided.
