Heather Woodford

Social Work Counselor at Gender Health Center

Heather Woodford, LCSW, is a dedicated Mental Health Therapist in private practice since September 2019, specializing in gender, sexuality, and open relationships. In addition to private practice, Heather serves as a Lecturer at California State University-Sacramento, teaching undergraduate social work practice since January 2017. As the Founder of Sex Positive Sacramento, Heather leverages over a decade of community organizing experience to advocate for inclusive and justice-based approaches in working with sexual minorities. Concurrently, Heather has been a Social Work Counselor at Gender Health Center since September 2012, focusing on the needs of transgender, lesbian, bisexual, and gay clients. Heather's diverse experience also includes roles in community organizing, development, and providing supportive counseling and mentoring in educational settings. Heather holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University-Sacramento.
