Jana Hersch

Jana Hersch has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Jana started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Whitehead Institute from June 2009 to April 2013. From there, they moved on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Educational Specialist & Outreach Coordinator from March 2014 to May 2016. Since then, Jana has been working at Genedata. Jana first served as a Scientific and Technical Writer & Team Lead from March 2018 to December 2020. Following that, they took on the position of a Scientific Account Manager from January 2021 to July 2022. Currently, Jana holds the role of Head of Corporate Scientific Engagement at Genedata, starting in July 2022.

Jana Hersch completed their education with a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with summa cum laude honors from Mount Holyoke College in 2001. Jana also attended UWC Atlantic College from 1995 to 1997, where they obtained an I.B. degree. Jana began their educational journey at Masarykovo Gymnazium in Plzen, Czech Republic, from 1993 to 1995.
