Soo Ro

Soo Ro is a Senior Scientist in Biophysics at Genentech, specializing in small molecule drug discovery within the Biochemical & Cellular Pharmacology department since February 2023. Prior to this role, Soo served as a Senior Scientist I at AbbVie, focusing on protein biochemistry for small molecule therapeutic development in collaboration with Calico. Soo's career began with significant research experiences at Northwestern University, including postdoctoral and doctoral work in the Amy Rosenzweig Group, where expertise in protein characterization was developed. Additional roles at Intrexon Corporation, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute contributed to a strong foundation in biochemistry, molecular biology, and applied bioinformatics, bolstered by a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from UC Berkeley.
