Abdulaziz Alzoom currently serves as the Governor of the General Authority for Competition since February 2018. Previously, Abdulaziz held various leadership roles at the Capital Market Authority from May 2004 to February 2018, including Director of Research, Chairman Advisor, and Media and Investor Awareness Department Director. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Finance & Administration at the International Energy Forum (2002-2004), as well as consultancy roles in the offices of the Minister of Oil & Mineral Resources (2000-2002) and the Minister of Planning (1997-2000). Abdulaziz began an academic career as a Professor of Applied Economics at King Saud University from 1995 to 1997. Educational credentials include a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Colorado State University, along with ongoing professional development through various prestigious institutions.
