Rommel Mercado

Rommel Mercado is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in data and infrastructure management. Currently serving as Sr. Manager in Big Data platform engineering at General Motors, Rommel is responsible for advancing the hadoop platform and transitioning the team towards site reliability engineering. Prior to this role, Rommel held various leadership positions at Dell, including Director of ITDS Service Assurance, where responsibilities included high availability assessment and design reviews for business applications. Rommel has a robust background in engineering services, application reliability, and IT service management across multiple organizations and technologies. Rommel earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
