Lalita Oonthonpan

Lalita Oonthonpan, PhD, is an experienced exploratory cell biologist currently serving as Associate Director and Senior Scientist at Generation Bio since October 2020, focusing on the evaluation of the cell-targeted lipid nanoparticle (ctLNP) delivery platform across various cell and tissue types. Prior to this role, Lalita worked as a Scientist at Comet Therapeutics, where significant contributions included conducting in vitro pharmacology studies, managing compound screenings, and leading collaborations for bioanalysis in mouse models. Lalita's academic background includes a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a specialization in metabolism from the University of Iowa, where research efforts involved pioneering work in gene editing and metabolic studies. Earlier research experience at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences contributed to work published on structural changes in crystallin mutants related to cataract pathology.
