Brian Mariani has extensive work experience in the field of reproductive medicine and molecular genetics. From 1998 onwards, they held multiple roles at the Genetics & IVF Institute, including Scientific Director and Laboratory Director. In these positions, they were involved in preimplantation genetic diagnosis of IVF embryos, as well as the identification of genetic diseases and chromosomal abnormalities. Prior to this, Brian Mariani worked as an Assistant Professor at the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University from 1989 to 1997.
Brian Mariani holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Stanford University, which they obtained between 1977 and 1983. Following this, they pursued a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Biology & Genetics at Harvard University's Cell & Developmental Biology department, from 1984 to 1989. In terms of additional certifications, they became a CLIA Laboratory Director in Molecular Infectious Disease Laboratory through the U.S. Government's Department of Health & Human Services, HRSA, in January 1998.
