Michael Nguyen

Michael Nguyen has an extensive work experience spanning over several companies. Michael started their career in 1992 as a Software Engineer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where they specialized in writing programs and graphical user interfaces for the FishTV sonar system. From 1994 to 1997, at ViaSat, they worked as a Software Engineer and contributed to the design and implementation of the Communications Environment Simulator for the Air Force and Navy.

In 1997, Nguyen joined Chrystal Software (later acquired by Xerox) as a Software Engineer, where they developed integrated solutions and frameworks for a commercial content management system. Michael then moved to WebSideStory in 1999, where they conducted research, designed, and implemented internet applications using a three-tier architecture approach.

From 2002 to 2009, Nguyen worked at Cardinal Health, where they held various roles, including Senior Software Engineer and Software Manager. Michael contributed to the development of inventory management solutions and point-of-use systems for the healthcare industry. Michael also led the development of the Performance Dashboard Agent and Supply Procedure release, resulting in customer acquisition and cross-sale partnerships.

In 2009, Nguyen joined CareFusion (formerly Cardinal Health CTS) as a Software Manager. Michael played a vital role in the software development of an automated medication management system, leading to improved medication safety and staff efficiency. Michael also led the development of the Hardware Abstraction Layer and Hardware Test Application, resulting in significant cost savings.

From 2010 to 2012, Nguyen worked at Aperio as a Senior Systems Software Engineer, responsible for the development of software for whole slide scanning instruments. Michael led the development of the next-generation Console software for several ScanScope models, resulting in improved customer feedback and reduced support cases.

Lastly, since 2012, Nguyen has been working at GenMark Diagnostics. Michael initially served as a Senior Software Engineer and gradually progressed to roles such as Senior Software Manager, Associate Director of Software Engineering, and currently as the Director of Software Engineering.
