Sangmoon Lee

Sangmoon Lee has extensive work experience in the field of genetics and research. Sangmoon is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Genome Insight Inc. since March 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California San Diego from July 2018 to February 2022. In this position, they conducted genetic studies on spina bifida and rare neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Before joining UC San Diego, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at Seoul National University from March 2018 to June 2018 and a Graduate Student in the same institution from March 2013 to February 2018. In these roles, they focused on rare genetic disorders, particularly in the fields of hematological/immunological and neurodevelopmental genetic disorders. Prior to their research career, Sangmoon worked at Seoul National University Hospital, where they completed their Residency from March 2009 to February 2013 and Internship from March 2008 to February 2009.

Sangmoon Lee pursued their education at Seoul National University, where they earned a PhD in Medical Genetics and Functional Genomics from 2013 to 2018. Prior to this, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Seoul National University. Sangmoon also completed a Master of Science (MS) in Advanced Education for Clinician-Scientists from the same institution.
