Tristan Sweat

Tristan Sweat has a diverse range of experience in the field of communications, with a focus on internal and external communications strategies. Tristan has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Production Assistant at WWMT-TV News Channel 3 in 1997. Tristan then moved on to Heritage Broadcasting, where they worked as an Executive Producer and News Reporter, responsible for covering a six-county beat and creating compelling television news stories.

Tristan later joined WSBT-TV as a Producer/Reporter, where they were responsible for all news content and graphics in the evening newscast. Tristan also coordinated special live coverage for community fundraising events.

In 2009, Tristan transitioned to Crossroads Prison Ministries, working as a Public Relations Specialist. Here, they served as a co-host, news reporter, producer, and promoter for a restorative justice radio program. Tristan also organized company tours and off-campus events to promote the prison ministry's art gallery.

Tristan then joined National Heritage Academies as a Senior Communications Specialist, managing public relations for 40 partner schools. Tristan handled media advisories, press releases, and radio interviews. Tristan also edited various corporate and external communications.

In 2016, Tristan joined BluJay Solutions as a Content Marketing Manager, where they played a key role in creating a content marketing strategy and overseeing all content generated by the marketing team.

Currently, Tristan is working at Gentex Corporation, initially as an Internal Communication & Social Media Specialist, then as an Internal Communications & Social Media Manager, and now as the Director of Corporate Communications. In this role, they manage internal communications on a global scale, oversees HR internal communications programs, and provides strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.

Tristan Sweat earned a double major Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Broadcast Cable Production from Western Michigan University from 1996 to 2000. Before that, Tristan completed high school and received a diploma in Journalism from Bangor High School between 1992 and 1996. Additionally, Tristan obtained certifications in "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences" from LinkedIn in 2021 and "Women in Leadership" from the University of Notre Dame in 2019.
