Koen Aerts

Koen Aerts is a seasoned professional in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as a Technical Product Manager GIS at Brussels Airport Company since September 2022, Aerts has also held significant positions including GIS Architect at GEO Solutions since June 2010 and Geographic Information Systems Engineer at the Federale Politie since October 2019. Aerts has contributed to the sports community as a Youth Coordinator and Trainer/Coach at Volley Haasrode-Leuven since August 2012, as well as various coaching roles with the Belgian Red Dragons and Topvolley Belgium. Aerts began a career in academia as a Scientific Researcher at KU Leuven and has notable technical expertise gained through roles at SIGGIS and Spatial Applications Division Leuven. Aerts holds a degree in geography from KU Leuven and previously studied sciences and mathematics at Sint-Jozefscollege Aarschot.
