John Shanks

John Shanks has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. John has served as an Executive Director and Chief Development Officer at the NASCPC National Association of School and Campus Police Chiefs. John has also worked as a Business Development Director at GeoComm. In addition, they have held positions such as Chairman at the USAF Police Alumni Foundation and Founder & Co-Chair at the USAF Police Alumni Association. John has also worked as a Senior Curriculum Developer and Master Instructor at ICITAP - KSA - Amentum CTR. Further, they have served as the Vice President of Business Development & Law Enforcement Relations at the School Safety Advocacy Council. Additionally, John has held positions such as National Director of the Police Training Institute at the Council for a Strong America and Director of LE Relations & ORC Recovery at The Zellman Group, LLC. John has also worked as the Director of Law Enforcement Relations, Training & Education at Digital Tactical Training Solutions, CAAS, NY. Lastly, John has served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Alexandria Knolls West.

John Shanks attended the USAF and various colleges and universities from 1978 to 1997, where they obtained a BA degree in Criminal Justice/Public Administration. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained certifications such as International Certified Instructor (IICI) from IADLEST - International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training in 2022, IADLEST Nationally Certified Instructor from the same institution in 2020, and Criminal Investigator certification from Hill Country Village Police Department in 1990. John also obtained an Instructor Certification from San Antonio College, Law Enforcement Training Center, and a Master Peace Officer certification from Hill Country Village Police Department, both in Texas.
