Karyn Tareen

Karyn Tareen is the President and CEO of Geocove, a role held since July 2007, and serves as a member of the New York State Geospatial Advisory Council since December 2022. Tareen previously held leadership positions, including Past President and President of the NYS GIS Association from October 2017 to September 2023. Earlier in their career, Tareen worked at ESRI as a Solutions Engineer and Technical Marketing Analyst and as a Technical Manager of Database Services. Tareen's educational background includes a BA in Geography/GIS from the University at Buffalo, participation in the URISA Leadership Academy, and completion of programs at the University of Central Florida and Niagara University. Early field experience includes an internship at the University of Florida, where Tareen mapped crocodile nests and sensitive environmental lands.
