Karen Thompson has extensive experience in educational program management and compliance within the Georgia Department of Community Health since November 2013. As Manager II and Program Manager, responsibilities include planning and coordinating the Administrative Claiming for Education (ACE) and Children’s Intervention School Services (CISS) programs, alongside the creation and implementation of CISS policy. Additionally, as Compliance Auditor, Karen Thompson ensures Local Education Agency compliance with ACE and CISS policies. Prior experience includes serving as Women's Health Coordinator, managing the Planning for Healthy Babies 1115 Demonstration. From August 2007 to May 2012, Karen Thompson worked at DeKalb County School District as a Special Education Teacher and Department Chair, providing case management for students with various disabilities. Educational qualifications include an Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Liberty University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Savannah State University.
