Shirlan Johnson

Shirlan Johnson currently serves as the Sr. IA & Compliance Manager at the Georgia Department of Human Services, where responsibilities include planning and coordinating information assurance activities, with a focus on compliance and auditing. Previously, Shirlan held the position of Corporate IA Manager at Scientific Research Corporation, managing the security lifecycle of information systems and earning superior ratings that contributed to the 2015 Cogswell Award. Earlier experience includes roles as an Information Security Analyst at InfiStar Corporation, a Systems Application Specialist at Avaya, and a Personnelman in the United States Navy. Shirlan holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Information Security from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from Clark Atlanta University.
