David Brownell

David Brownell is a seasoned software engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Engineering at the Scientific Software Engineering Center at Georgia Institute of Technology since March 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Software Engineering Manager at Blue Origin, and Principal Software Engineering Lead at Microsoft, where David contributed to the AI Platform and developed the Featurizers Library team. As the founder of David Brownell Enterprises, David focused on custom software solutions and support services while also holding leadership positions at Avalara, Tagboard, Amazon.com, and Aegis Design. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Seattle University.
