Richard Simmons

Richard Simmons is a Principal Research Engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology since February 2016. Previously, Richard served as the Executive Director for Research at the AirTIES Center at Purdue University from August 2012 to January 2016, focusing on energy research in alternative fuels and renewable energy technologies. Prior roles include Energy Officer at the U.S. Department of State and Vice President of Engineering at Eleison Composites, LLC. Richard began their career in engineering as a Director at Astechnologies, Inc. and Product Engineer at Bosch Automotive Motor Systems. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and both an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively.
