Tristan Smith

Tristan Smith is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in digital and video production. Currently serving as a Senior Digital and Video Producer at Georgia Public Broadcasting since May 2020, Tristan previously worked at CNN for over three decades, where the role of Supervising Producer involved coordinating live field broadcasts and writing news segments for CNN.com. As a Senior Producer, Tristan effectively executed all stages of production, recognized with a 2010 George Foster Peabody Award for impactful coverage of the Gulf Oil Spill. Additional roles included Features Unit Producer and Package Producer, focusing on new features and general news content creation while advising on editorial elements. Tristan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University.
