David Robinson

David Robinson started their career as a Lecturer at the School of Earth Science, Flinders University in July 2000. David then joined Geoscience Australia in January 2001 as an Earthquake Activity Leader, where they built and led a high-performing earthquake risk modeling team. During their time at Geoscience Australia, David held various roles including Chief Scientist at DMinnovation, Senior Research Geophysicist at the Mineral Systems Branch, and Branch Head of the Energy Systems Branch. David provided technical advice, shaped strategic directions, and worked on the development and visualization of geophysical data. David also led discussions on critical mineral potential, influenced data delivery portals, and acted as Branch Head for the Minerals Systems Branch. David left Geoscience Australia in December 2018.

David Robinson began their education at Urrbrae Agricultural High School, where they completed their SACE degree from 1991 to 1995. David then attended Flinders University of SA from 1996 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Mathematics and Geophysics. Afterward, from 1999 to 2000, they pursued further education at Flinders University of SA and obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Geophysics. Following this, from 2001 to 2002, they attended Charles Sturt University and obtained a Graduate Certificate of Management. Lastly, from 2005 to 2009, David pursued their highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), specializing in Seismology, at the Research School of Earth Sciences, The Australian National University.
