Nathan Russell

Nathan Russell is currently the Director of IT at Geospatial Consulting Group International. Prior to this, they were the Web Services Manager at Associated Builders and Contractors from April 2011 to September 2016. In this role, they were responsible for providing consultations and assistance to all ABC National and Chapter staff in the area of Web Development and Maintenance. Nathan was also directly responsible for the overall design, architect and deployment of ABC National's website, ABC Chapter websites and Construction Executive's website.

During their time at Associated Builders and Contractors, Nathan managed and mentored a team of in-house full-time, interns and contracted web developers and designers. Nathan was responsible for the overall management, design, development and technical structure of over 100 ABC, Chapter and ABC affiliated websites, including implementing a robust redundant DR system to provide 100% up time. Nathan also managed our code repository using subversion while implementing a new repository using Git.

In addition, Nathan implemented a new Content Management System (CMS) to use as the association-wide web platform of choice, replacing the outdated custom built CMS. This included designing a roll-out and training plan for the new CMS. Nathan also worked with cross-departmental staff to ensure that all development projects were designed, developed and implemented in a timely manner, on budget and consistent in content and style across all ABC websites.

Nathan Russell has an Associate's Degree in Computer Science & Astrophysics from Red Rocks Community College. Nathan also has an Associate's Degree in Business Management & Management Information Systems from Northern Virginia Community College. Nathan is certified in Server+ and Security + ce from CompTIA, and they are also certified in Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
