Garry Stanley is a Senior Geologist at Geosyntec Consultants. Garry has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. Garry has a B.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of Illinois and is a Registered Professional Geologist in Illinois.
Garry started their career in environmental consulting at Handex Consulting & Remediation (HCR) in 1999 as a Hydrogeologist. In this role, they were responsible for the preparation of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) - LUST regulatory reports and non-regulatory technical reports. Garry also developed and implemented site-specific subsurface investigation plans to delineate contaminants of concern in soil and groundwater. Garry coordinated all aspects of field investigation activities including permitting, screening, description, and collection of soil samples; and directed the installation and completion of monitoring wells using HSA or DP drilling methods. Additional activities included the groundwater sampling, oversight/coordination of UST removal and soil excavation activities, hydrocarbon vapor monitoring, remediation system installation, Dual-Phase Extraction events, and AST zone sampling.
In 2000, Garry joined EnviroGroup Limited as a Project Manager. In this role, they were responsible for managing and supervising site investigation and remediation activities for the restoration of air, groundwater, and soil at commercial, industrial, and municipal sites. Garry also was responsible for the development and implementation of proposals, site-specific sampling and analysis plans/work plans, and regulatory reporting. Garry was also involved with the design, implementation, and the operation and maintenance (O&M) of groundwater remediation systems including pump & treat, co-metabolic in-situ bioremediation, enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD).
Garry has been with Geosyntec Consultants since 2012 and is currently a Senior Geologist.
Garry Stanley has a MS in Geohydrology from Illinois State University and a BS in Geology/Earth Science, General from the same school. Garry is certified as a Licensed Professional Geologist from the Indiana Board of Licensure for Professional Geologists, Kansas State Board of Technical Professions, Illinois Division of Professional Regulation, and State of Wyoming Board of Professional Geologists.
They work with David Sherman - Senior Geologist, Lonnie Mercer - Senior Geologist. Garry Stanley reports to James Culp, Senior Principal Geologist.
