Elle Ramel has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Elle started their career as an Economic Policy Associate at the City of Chicago in 2013 and worked there until 2015. Elle then joined Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture as an Urban Computation Lead from 2015 to 2016. Afterward, they worked at City Tech Collaborative as a Strategic Partnerships officer from 2016 to 2018. During that time, they also co-founded City Open Workshop, a community workshop providing technical assistance and strategic advising on design-based projects.
In 2018, Ramel became the Director of Development at Farpoint Development LLC, a role they held until 2020. In the same year, they co-founded Design Trust Chicago. Currently, they are working as the Chicago Director at GET Cities since April 2020, and they hold the position of Principal at Esperanza Advisors from February 2023.
Throughout their career, Elle Ramel has gained experience in economic policy, urban computation, strategic partnerships, development, and community workshops.
Elle Ramel began their education at Saint Ignatius College Prep from 2003 to 2007, where they did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study. Elle then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Urban Studies at Yale University from 2007 to 2011. Later, Elle attended the University of Cambridge from 2012 to 2013 and achieved a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree with a focus on Land Economy: Planning, Growth and Regeneration.
