Juan Tan is a seasoned expert in materials engineering with extensive experience in research and consultancy. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at GEUS since September 2018, Juan's work focuses on critical raw materials analysis related to the green energy transition, metal recycling, CO2 corrosion in carbon capture and storage, and the role of platinum group metals in the hydrogen economy, alongside steel supply chain analysis in the Danish industry. Prior to this, Juan worked as a Principal Consultant at ExproSoft from October 2011 to April 2015, specializing in well integrity management, corrosion prediction, and quantitative risk analyses in upstream hydrocarbon production. Juan began a research career at NTNU from March 2008 to September 2011, investigating corrosion mechanisms on aluminum surfaces in seawater conditions. Juan holds a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a Master's degree in the same field from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
