Tjeerd van Rees Vellinga

Tjeerd van Rees Vellinga has extensive work experience in the field of psychiatry and medical information. Tjeerd currently holds the position of Chief Medical Information Officer at GGZ Noord-Holland-Noord since January 2023, and is also working as a Psychiatrist at the same organization since April 2021. In addition, they serve as the Chairman of CMIOs GGZ Nederland at GGZ since September 2022. Prior to this, Tjeerd worked as a Psychiatrist at Arkin BasisGGz from July 2018 to April 2021. Tjeerd also held the role of Chief Medical Information Officer at Arkin from May 2018 to April 2021, where they acted as a liaison between clinicians and the IT department, aiming to improve communication and enhance patient care. Earlier in their career, Tjeerd worked as a Psychiatrist at Mentrum from August 2016 to May 2018, and as a Resident in Psychiatry and Arts-Assistant at Arkin from August 2010 to August 2016. Tjeerd also had a brief stint as a Resident in Psychiatry at Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in April 2015.

Tjeerd van Rees Vellinga began their education journey at CSG Liudger in Drachten, where they completed their VWO degree from 1993 to 1999. Tjeerd then attended the University of Amsterdam from 2000 to 2003, where they studied Law. In 2003, they continued their education at the same university and obtained their MD degree in Medicine, which lasted until 2010. Returning to education in 2023, Tjeerd enrolled in the Collegereeks Artificial Intelligence program at Nyenrode Business University.
