Garrett Hannett

Garrett Hannett is a Senior Cyber Security Analyst at Gibraltar Industries since July 2020, with a focus on implementing email reporting and phishing prevention tools and leading the rollout of XDR across various operating systems. Previously, Garrett held the position of Cyber Security Analyst, where responsibilities included day-to-day detection and response operations to enhance security and managing Active Directory user accounts. As a Course Instructor for BlackGirlsHack since May 2022, Garrett developed and demonstrated a Capture the Flag workshop at Defcon, sponsored by Palo Alto. Additionally, Garrett serves as the Head Lacrosse Coach at Urban Prep Academies since January 2022. Prior experience includes working as a Network Analyst at Midway Wholesalers, Inc., where threat and vulnerability reports were analyzed, and remediation efforts were managed following network intrusions. Garrett holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Governors State University and has a prior educational background from Illinois State University.
