Josip Nogic

Josip Nogic, BTech has extensive work experience in the energy sector. Josip began their career as an Instrumentation Technician intern at SINCOR C.A. In this role, they gained valuable experience in operating control systems and related equipment. Josip then transitioned to a Process Technician role at the same company, where they monitored and adjusted physio-chemical treatments and activated sludge processes.

Josip later joined Syncrude Canada Ltd. as a Process Operator/Shift Team Leader. Here, they played a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the oil movement within crude upgrading units. Josip also oversaw the operation of storage tanks, pump stations, and various equipment, ensuring product quality and adherence to safety protocols.

After Syncrude, Josip worked at Kinder Morgan, Inc. as a Control Centre Operator. Josip was responsible for monitoring and controlling oil movement operations at the Edmonton Terminal, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Josip then joined TC Energy as a Controller in the Oil Pipelines Control Center. In this role, they monitored and controlled various facilities within the Keystone Pipeline system, ensuring the safe and cost-effective transportation of crude oil.

Next, Josip moved to Shell as a Terminal Operations Supervisor, overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the Calgary Fuel Distribution Terminal. Josip coordinated operations with pipeline control centers, rail companies, and trucking companies. Josip also provided leadership to terminal operators, managed maintenance activities, and played a key role in troubleshooting and process optimization.

Currently, Josip is serving as the Director of Canadian Operations at Gibson Energy. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing operations and providing strategic direction for the company.

Josip Nogic obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Technology Management from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued Power Engineering 4th Class - Part A at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2010. Josip also holds a Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology from the Instituto Universitario de Tecnologia de Administracion Industrial / IUTA, which they earned between 2001 and 2004.
