Nat Johnston, CFA has over 20 years of work experience. Nat started their career as an Investment Director at Coutts, where they managed global multi-asset class portfolios for ultra high net worth clients. Nat specialized in US equities and conducted research on individual companies, taking into account competitive strength, valuation, and macroeconomic analysis.
Nat then moved to Consulta Ltd., where they worked as a Portfolio Manager in a global cross-asset hedge fund. Nat utilized a fundamental, value-oriented strategy and invested in individual companies, both public and private, with the aim of achieving high absolute returns.
Nat later joined Oakmore Investment Partners as the Head of Investments. Nat was responsible for managing the global cross-asset strategy and chaired the monthly asset allocation committee. Nat conducted investment research, incorporating quantitative analysis and growth/inflation regime analysis, to inform tactical asset allocation decisions.
Currently, Nat is employed at GIC as the Head of Total Portfolio Strategy Management. Nat oversees the management of strategies within the GIC Total Portfolio, including total portfolio management, macro strategy, and asset allocation. Nat'srole also involves conducting economic research and identifying new investment trends and opportunities for the GIC portfolio.
Nat Johnston, CFA has a Bachelor's degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford, which was completed from 1995 to 1998. They also hold a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute. Additionally, Nat has a certification in Data Science and Data Engineering, obtained from the Data Science Dojo in 2017.
