Sam Sollars has worked in various roles since 1989. Sam began their career as a Mission District Leader at LDS Mission in 1989. In 1992, they moved to K&L Microwave as a Product Line Manager, where they built electromagnetic switches that transferred microwave frequencies. Sam was later promoted to Line Testing Technician and then Line Manager building switches for the Department of the Navy's Tomahawk Missiles. In 1993, they joined the United States Air Force as a Computer Shop Non-Commissioned Officer. During their time in the Air Force, they were awarded multiple awards for their performance and managed up to 70 people. Sam also worked on the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Satellites Project Team and was a Force Protection Officer. In 2014, they left the Air Force and joined General Dynamics Information Technology as a NIPRNet/SIPRNet System/Network Administrator. Sam then moved to BOSH Global Services as a System Administrator, Kirby-Smith Machinery as a Corporate Trainer, and Oracle as a North America Payroll, Support Engineer. In 2019, they joined Gideon Taylor Consulting as a Solution Services Manager and Functional Analyst.

Sam Sollars has a diverse educational background. Sam began their education in 2002 and 2004 at the Community College of the Air Force, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) in Electronic System Technology and an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Avionics Maintenance Technology/Technician, respectively. In 2013, they obtained their Information Assurance certification from the Air Education and Training Command. From 2014 to 2018, Sam attended Park University and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Science. Additionally, Sam has obtained various certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, USAF Training, AF IT Learning, ADLS- AF Enterprise, and AETC.
