Upper School Spanish Teacher, Teacher at Gilman School

Matthew Zealand is an experienced educator with a notable background in language instruction and departmental leadership. Since August 2015, Matthew has served as Co-Director of the Penn Fellows Program and Chair of the Modern Languages Department at Gilman School, where responsibilities include teaching Spanish, advising students, co-leading the student newspaper, and coaching JV Soccer and JV Baseball. Previously, Matthew held the position of World Languages Department Head, Spanish Teacher, and Coach at Drew School from July 2009 to July 2015. Matthew's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Spanish Linguistics from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature and Psychology from Towson University, complemented by a year of study at Universidad de Murcia.
