Mitchell Leal

Mitchell Leal has a strong background in finance and auditing with over 13 years of experience. Most recently, they worked as the Head of Finance - Europe at Gilson, where they were responsible for managing the financial administration of six European sales offices. Mitchell also acted as a financial business partner to the management team and oversaw a team of 7 FTEs in finance and 2 FTEs in business intelligence. Prior to Gilson, Mitchell worked as a Financial Manager at Manfex (Pty) Ltd, where they led financial processes and increased the company's operating margin. Mitchell also assessed risks and produced monthly management accounts. Earlier in their career, Mitchell worked as an External Auditor at AFS Solutions (Pty) Ltd, where they coordinated audit assignments, tested internal controls, and generated comprehensive reports on audit findings.

Mitchell Leal holds a Diploma in Insolvency Law from the University of Pretoria, obtained in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2015. In 1999, they completed a Diploma in Project Management from Varsity College. In addition to their formal education, Mitchell has obtained certifications in Excel: PivotTables in Depth from LinkedIn in 2020, Tax Practitioner from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) in 2017, and South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) in 2015.
