Karina Rios Michel has a diverse and extensive work experience. Karina started their career at Pratibha Syntex Ltd. in 2009, where they worked as a Senior Creative Manager for four years. During this time, they built an in-house sustainable design studio and directed a documentary film that garnered recognition.

In 2013, Karina joined Girl Effect as a Design and Innovation Manager. Over the years, they progressed within the organization and held roles such as Senior Brand Manager, Director of Product Design & Development, and Head of Create. In these positions, they spearheaded various initiatives aimed at empowering girls through digital media products and services, leading global teams and contributing to the overall strategy and operations of Girl Effect.

Karina's work experience demonstrates their expertise in creative technology, product design, and brand management. Karina has a proven track record of successfully driving positive change and making a meaningful impact in the field of social behavior change and gender empowerment.

Karina Rios Michel earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fashion Design from the California College of the Arts in the years 2004 to 2008. Karina later pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they obtained expertise in Digital Marketing from General Assembly in 2017.
