Shawna Van Voorst, SHRM-CP, has extensive work experience in human resources and benefits administration. Shawna currently holds the position of Chief People Officer at Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons, where they are responsible for overseeing HR operations. Prior to this, Shawna worked at Homepoint as the Senior Director of Total Rewards and as the Director of Benefits. In these roles, they led teams and implemented benefit strategies while ensuring compliance and providing excellent customer service. Before joining Homepoint, Shawna worked at POET, where they served as the Total Rewards Manager and Benefits Strategy Manager. Shawna'sresponsibilities included driving continuous improvement, managing benefit programs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Shawna also gained experience in benefits administration and HRIS systems while working as a CARE (HR) Team Coordinator at POET. Early in their career, Shawna worked at Harrisburg School District, where they held positions as an Assistant HR Manager and an Administrative Assistant in Accounts Payable.
Shawna Van Voorst, SHRM-CP, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Northwestern College from 1997 to 2001. During their time at Northwestern, they also pursued a minor in Accounting. In May 2018, Shawna attained the certification of SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from the institution SHRM.
