Seiya Shimizu's work experience includes:

- 2021: Currently working as a Project Manager at GITAI.

- 2017-2021: Worked as a Software Engineer at WHILL, Inc., where they designed and implemented firmware for OTA firmware update capability and Bluetooth 4.2 connection capability. Seiya also worked on autonomous stop/driving system R&D using a wide variety of sensors.

- 2012-2017: Worked as an Avionics Engineer at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. / MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES GROUP.

- 2010-2012: Worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University, Hansen Experimental Physics Laboratory.

Seiya Shimizu completed their high school education from Seikei Senior High School, earning a High School Diploma from 2000 to 2005. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2005 to 2010. After completing their undergraduate degree, Seiya continued their education at Stanford University from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics.
