David Desanto

David DeSanto is the Chief Product Officer of GitLab Inc., the leading DevSecOps platform. GitLab’s platform enables organizations to plan, code, build, secure, deploy, and monitor software in one application with a unified data model and one interface.

As Chief Product Officer, David is focused on delivering a stellar product experience to GitLab’s users from startups to global enterprises. He leads GitLab’s Product division (Product Management, Product Monetization and Operations, User Experience) to define and execute GitLab’s product vision and roadmap, and is responsible for facilitating strong collaboration between Product, Engineering, the CEO, and other executives. David also leverages customer and industry feedback to build, ship, and support products that improve GitLab’s position within the DevSecOps market.

Prior to his role as Chief Product Officer, David held other leadership roles with the Product division. David joined GitLab in 2019 to help GitLab grow its Ultimate tier through building security into the DevOps lifecycle. Since then, David led the launches of capabilities that are critical to customer success, including expanding GitLab’s compliance capabilities, improvements to GitLab’s enterprise agile planning and Value Stream Analytics capabilities, and the launch of GitLab Dedicated.

David holds an M.S. in Cybersecurity from New York University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. He is a frequent speaker at major international conferences on topics including threat intelligence, cloud security, GNSS security issues and SSL/TLS issues, in addition to being the co-author of Threat Forecasting.
