Chief Technology Officer at Glambook

Sergey Akhapkin has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry. Sergey began their career in 1997 as a Junior Software Engineer at the Central R&D Institute for Robotics and Technical Cybernetics, where they developed SP-100 and SSPT-1 firewall. In 2000, they moved to State Unitary Organization "Omega" as a Software Engineer, where they developed special patches (ethernet level filters) for network facility FreeBSD 3.x, 4.x kernel. In 2001, they joined Doctor Web, Ltd. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed Dr. Web Filters/Plugins for Mail & File Servers (Unix). In 2005, they moved to FusionOne as a Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead, where they led a team responsible for the development of a core component of the FusionOne synchronization platform. Sergey also was responsible for researching and developing prototypes for next generation products. In 2010, they joined SEVEN Networks as a Development Manager and Senior/Principal Software Engineer/Team Lead, where they were responsible for architecture, design and implementation of server-side components for a Mobile innovated product. Sergey also de-facto executed team-leader role for the server development team. In the same year, they also joined Synchronoss Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at Gissoft LTD as a Software Engineer/Architect, where they took key roles in www.cargoonline.ru - SaaS for auto transport logistics. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at Digital Magic Ltd as a Board member, where they provided customers with access control and billing system based on Estonian id-cards for shooting range. In 2020, they joined Glambook as the Chief Technology Officer.

Sergey Akhapkin has completed an MSc in Analysis and Control of technical systems (Robotics) from Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University between 1994 and 2000. Sergey also has several certifications from Coursera, including Finding Hidden Messages in DNA (Bioinformatics I) in February 2016, Principles of Reactive Programming in December 2013, Synapses, Neurons and Brains in June 2013, Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1 in March 2013, Functional Programming Principles in Scala in November 2012, Neural Networks for Machine Learning in November 2012, Machine Learning in July 2012, and Game Theory in May 2012.
