Denis Shilnikov

Denis Shilnikov has a diverse work experience in the field of web development and backend management. Denis started their career in 2012 at Bars Group as a Web Developer. In 2014, they worked as a Full Stack Developer for an undisclosed company where they supported and developed e-commerce online stores and created websites for ticket sales.

In 2012, Shilnikov joined OOO "ILADA" as a Web Developer, where they provided full support for a WordPress site and created extensions. Denis also worked on a CRM-ERP system, developing and supporting modules for the system.

From 2016 onwards, Shilnikov worked at GlassesUSA.com, starting as a Development Team Lead and later becoming the Head of the Backend Department. In their management roles, they were responsible for leading a team of developers, conducting interviews, and communicating with Product Management. Denis was also involved in coming up with solutions, decomposing development tasks, and controlling the quality of solutions through code reviews.

Additionally, Shilnikov was actively involved in the development of various backend features, including integrating insurance companies for client discounts, integrating different payment methods, and collaborating with third-party providers for frames and contact lenses. Denis also played a key role in the migration of functionality from an ecommerce monolith to Symfony microservices. Denis'swork also involved moving the product catalog from MySQL to Elasticsearch and implementing async connections between services using Apache Kafka. Denis focused on performance improvements in the code and in MySQL, utilizing tools like Blackfire.

Denis Shilnikov attended Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N.Tupolev – KAI from 2007 to 2012. During this time, they pursued a degree in Computer Science and successfully obtained an Engineer's degree.
