Ross Johnstone

Ross Johnstone has a strong background in optical engineering, with experience spanning over a decade. Ross currently holds the position of Senior Manager of Optical Engineering at Glaukos Corporation since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal Optical Engineer at Glaukos Corporation from February 2020 to January 2022.

Before joining Glaukos Corporation, Ross worked at IPG Photonics as a Senior Photonics Engineer from June 2017 to February 2020.

Ross started their career at Thorlabs Imaging Systems in 2010, where they held multiple roles. Ross served as an Optical Systems Engineer from March 2016 to June 2017, responsible for the development of laser scanning microscopy systems. Ross also worked as an Optical-Mechanical Design Engineer from June 2013 to March 2016, focusing on the design of two-photon and confocal microscopes, as well as the research and development of an OCT autofocus system for slide scanning applications. Prior to that, they worked as an Optical Design Engineer from October 2010 to June 2013, responsible for designing optical and opto-mechanical components and sub-systems.

Ross Johnstone has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews. Ross followed this up with a Master's degree in Physics from the same university. Ross completed their Bachelor's degree between 2004 and 2008 and their Master's degree between 2008 and 2009.
