Tahir Amin, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Tahir Amin, Ph.D., P.Eng., has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. From 2013 to 2020, they worked as a Senior Project Engineer at First Solar, where they led coordination with project stakeholders and managed multidisciplinary teams for PV Solar, substation, and transmission line design.

In 2020, they joined Plus Power as a Manager EPC, where they were responsible for CapEx/OpEx forecasts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), managed contractors, suppliers, and engineering consultants, and negotiated PPA/ESPPA and LGIA contracts for multiple BESS projects.

From 2021 to 2022, Tahir worked at Luminate as a Director of Consulting Services. In this role, they provided project leadership, oversaw project management, supervised and mentored teams, and provided technical and commercial advisory for solar and BESS projects. Tahir also served as an SME leader on stationary energy storage and solar systems, supporting power and renewable energy advisory services.

Currently, Tahir is serving as the SVP of Project Execution & Operations at GlidePath Power Solutions, starting in 2022.

Tahir Amin, Ph.D., P.Eng. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Toronto. Tahir pursued this degree from 2004 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Applied Science - MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University between 2001 and 2003.
