Dr. Gurdev Singh, MD CPHIMS is a founding partner and COO of Global Nephrology Solutions (GNS), a physician-owned and led practice management platform transforming the nephrology space through an expansive physician network and state-of-the-art data analytics. He completed his internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center and fellowship in nephrology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He is a practicing nephrologist at Southwest Kidney Institute and is triple board certified in nephrology, clinical informatics, and internal medicine. Dr. Singh holds a board position at Neighborhood Physician Alliance (NPA), is a finance committee member of the Banner Health Network, and a board member of Phoenix Tucson Integrated Kidney Care LLC (CMMI’s ESCO pilot). He held past appointments on the physician advisory boards for DaVita Falcon, Athenahealth and is immediate Vice President of Southwest Kidney Institute. He is a founding member and CIO of Renal Care Organization (RCO) and RCO Analytics LLC, entities that are both devoted to the deployment of high-quality population health initiatives achieved by developing one of the largest CKD databases in the country.
Dr. Singh’s interests, outside of direct patient care, cover a broad spectrum of IT and medical finance. He is passionate about creating and implementing automated processes across the organization, using IT tools and analytics with the goal of driving quality outcomes, and improving patient care while achieving financial success. Dr. Singh volunteered on the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Ambulatory Committee, served as its co-chair, and was a liaison to HIMSS Clinical Business Intelligence committee. He also chaired the HIMSS work group “New to Medical Informatics.” He has successfully spearheaded several projects at SKI, resulting in improved clinical and financial outcomes. SKI achieved 100% provider attestation of meaningful use for three successive years. He is a serial entrepreneur and has been instrumental in launching and managing successful companies with goal of improving quality of healthcare across nephrology at a lower cost, while preserving physician independence.
