Rahim Abo Kasem

Rahim Abo kasem is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, having commenced this role in September 2023. Abo kasem has extensive involvement in global health initiatives, serving as a member of Global Encounters since January 2015, including roles as a participant and facilitator in camps in Kenya and a member in Syria. Additionally, Abo kasem is a researcher with the Global OHNS Initiative, focusing on improving health equity in Otolaryngology Head-Neck surgery. Previous experience includes working as a Global Surgery Lab Researcher at the University of British Columbia, a Resident Doctor at Damascus University, and involvement with various medical organizations such as InciSioN and the Syrian American Medical Society. Abo kasem earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Damascus University and completed preparatory studies for medical colleges.
