Catherine Laverty

Catherine Laverty is an experienced communications and policy professional currently serving as the Director of Communications & Policy at the Global Self-Care Federation since January 2019. Prior to this role, Catherine held the position of Head of Communications at Alcon from September 2017 to January 2019 and worked as Communications & Advocacy Manager at the International Osteoporosis Foundation from March 2016 to August 2017. Catherine's earlier experience includes roles such as PR Account Director for Healthcare at Weber Shandwick, Marketing Communications Manager for Europe, Africa, and Asia at ADM, and work in medical devices at Medtronic. Catherine holds a Joint (BA) Hons in English & French Literature from The University of Manchester, a TEFL Diploma from I to I Volunteering, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Open University.
