Marina Sunehag has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Marina started their career at LSC Group in 2009 as a Marketing Manager and worked there until 2014. In 2014, they joined Global University Systems (GUS) as a Business Development Manager and later became an Associate Director of Recruitment for US institutions. Marina then became the Director of International and Business Development for North American Universities, where they managed partner relationships and led a team of regional directors. Marina's most recent role at GUS was as the Vice President of International Student Recruitment and Business Development for Canada, where they were responsible for brand positioning, student recruitment, and government relations. In 2018, Marina also worked at University Canada West as the Head of International Recruitment and Business Development.

Marina Sunehag pursued their education with a focus on international affairs and political science, specializing in geopolitical research. From 2001 to 2006, they attended State University, where they earned a combined Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in International Affairs and Political Science. Later, in 2008 to 2010, they enrolled at the University of Wales, Cardiff, completing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business with a concentration in Strategic Development and Analysis. Marina then furthered their studies at King's College London from 2019 to 2021, where they obtained a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International Financial and Commercial Law.
