Charlotte Oakes has a diverse work experience. Charlotte started their career at Merton College, Oxford where they worked as a Library and Archive Assistant for a two-week period in 2019. During this role, they gained experience in the care and management of academic texts and special collections.

In 2019, Charlotte joined Global Water Intelligence (GWI). Charlotte initially worked as a Research Analyst, where they created concise analysis of water market drivers and opportunities for treatment technologies and the food & beverage industry. Charlotte also produced written content for GWI's market intelligence platform and sourced datasets for market forecasts.

Later on, Charlotte progressed to the role of Technology Analyst, where they contributed technology market articles to GWI magazine, monitored developments within water technology markets, and updated and developed the physical/chemical treatment pages of WaterData.

In 2022, Charlotte was promoted to Technology Editor, responsible for overseeing technology-related content and analysis. And finally, in 2023, they took on the position of Head of Industrial Research at GWI.

Charlotte Oakes attended the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English.
