Irish Salandanan-Almeida has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Notably, they have served as Chief Privacy Officer and Data Protection Officer at Globe Group, where they are also the Chairperson of the Globe Group Privacy and Security Council. Irish has led the governance, risk, and compliance division of the Information Security and Data Privacy Group at Globe Group, as well as served as the Data Protection Officer at 917Ventures. Other roles include Public Affairs Manager at Grab, Public Policy Associate at Uber, Competition Law and Policy Research Associate at USAID, and Legal Associate at PJS Law and Britanico Sarmiento & Ringler Law Offices. Irish is currently the Ayala Group Data Privacy Council Chairperson at Ayala Corporation.
Irish Salandanan-Almeida obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Law from the University of the Philippines in 2010. Irish completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Legal Management at Ateneo de Manila University from 2002 to 2006. In 2022, they pursued an online certificate course in Data: Law, Policy, and Regulation from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, they completed an Executive Education program in Leadership and Strategy from Harvard Business School Online in 2017. From 1991 to 2002, they attended PAREF Woodrose School for their grade school-high school education. Irish also holds various certifications, including being a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in 2019.
