René Villapando has a diverse work experience in the media and entertainment industry. René started their career in 1992 at ABC Childrens Programming, where they assisted in supervising Saturday Morning Programs. René then worked as an Assistant to the Director of TV Development and Production at Quincy Jones*David Salzman Entertainment in 1995, gaining exposure to various aspects of television production. René joined DIRECTV in 1996 as a Sr. Manager of Sports Programming, where they maintained relationships with professional sports leagues and oversaw the execution of out-of-market pay-per-view sports packages. René then worked at AT&T, starting as an Associate Director of Sports Content and later becoming the Director of U-verse TV Member Marketing, overseeing regional and local outreach efforts and developing integrated marketing plans with linear networks. René also served as the EIC of AT&T U-Verse Entertainment Networks, responsible for managing all aspects of five channels under UvEN. Prior to joining Globecast in 2017 as the Vice President of Technical Services Sales, René worked as a freelance General Manager at Jellyfish Integrated Media, providing consultancy services to media companies and overseeing digital and linear strategy, operations efficiency, and marketing. In their current role at Globecast, René focuses on delivering tailored content management and distribution solutions globally.
René Villapando has obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Organizational Management from the University of Arizona. In addition, they have pursued studies in Computer Science and Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Riverside, without completing a specific degree program.
