Anthony Vladu

Anthony Vladu currently serves as the Schools Superintendent for Gloucester County Public Schools since August 2023. Previously, Anthony held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at York County School Division from July 2015 to August 2023, overseeing HR functions for 2,400 staff members and significantly enhancing employee working conditions. Anthony also served as Director of Secondary Instruction, where leadership led to notable increases in graduation rates for underserved student populations. As Principal at Denbigh High School, Anthony transformed the lowest-performing school in Newport News into the highest-performing institution through strategic hiring and community engagement. Anthony's educational contributions are further supported by an extensive academic background, including a Doctor of Education degree from William & Mary, and military experience as a Green Beret with the U.S. Army.
