Grant Magdanz is the Co-Founder of GM Labs, Inc. as of February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Co-Creator/Developer at Chert from August 2016 onwards, where they developed an iOS and Android app for typing in Alaska's Native languages. The app received significant recognition and was featured by various media outlets. Grant also worked as a Product Engineer at CommonStock from March 2020 to January 2022. Before that, Grant held multiple roles at Delphix, including Senior Member of Technical Staff II, Development Release Lead, Senior Member of Technical Staff I, and Member of Technical Staff. At Delphix, they led a team in open-sourcing the Virtualization SDK on GitHub and played a key role in developing the SDK used by partners to build database integrations. Additionally, they defined coding standards, best practices, and educated the team on them. Grant has also worked as a TA for Introductory Computer Science and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington. In 2015, Grant worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Delphix. Earlier in their career, they served as a Computer Technician at Northwest Arctic School District from June 2009 to December 2013.
Grant Magdanz completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Washington, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they attended Kotzebue Middle/High School from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their academic qualifications, Grant Magdanz obtained a Private Pilot's License from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2012.
