Ross Mackay has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Ross most recently worked as a Senior Corporate Counsel at GoCardless starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they were a Group Legal Counsel at Close Brothers from March 2021 to March 2023. Before their role at Close Brothers, Ross worked at Gowling WLG for a significant period of time, where they held various positions. Ross started as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2013, and later qualified as a Corporate Associate solicitor. Ross then became a Senior Corporate Associate solicitor, gaining expertise in venture capital, private M&A, private equity, joint ventures, and providing corporate and insolvency advice across various sectors. Ross also had a secondment at Euroclear as a Legal Counsel from January to April 2017. Prior to their legal career, Ross worked as an Analyst and later as a Consultant at GPV Investment from 2010 to 2013.
Ross Mackay received their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Warwick - School of Law, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Ross then pursued further education at The University of Law, where they completed a program in the Legal Practice Course with a focus on Corporate Law, earning a Postgraduate Diploma. This took place from 2012 to 2013. Prior to their university studies, Ross attended The 6th Form College Farnborough from 2004 to 2006, where they completed their A-Levels and received Advanced Extension Awards. Ross's high school education was completed at Edgbarrow School from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSEs). Additionally, in September 2015, Ross Mackay obtained the certification of Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales from the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
